Pfsense Emergency Reinstall

Note:

There are times when a package update can cause login problems with pfsense webconfigurator
And You just don't have time to fix it
Emergency Reinstall might be the quickest option using your pfsense backup-config file

This checklist below assumes you have a recent pfsense backup.xml file

4. Check Package Settings

Now login to pfsense webconfigurator webpage as the user who managed it before the error
Check that all the settings for each of the packages, are back as before
When you are certain everything is as it was before the error
Either keep or use the original pfsense firewall disk for something else

Tip:

Along with always having an up to date backup.xml file. Keep a record of packages installed on your pfsense firewall
